26.06.2023 - 27.06.2023

Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities conference 2023

The second annual event for the EU Mission for Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities invites Mission City mayors, political representatives and practitioners, the European Commission, national authorities, the Mission Platform NetZeroCities and others to connect and engage on Mission-critical concepts and ideas.

Who is the conference for?
The first day, 26 June, will be a day for exchange and dialogue between city practitioners – mission coordinators and transition team members within municipalities. The second day, 27 June, will have a two-track agenda: a practitioner track for city transition team delegates, and a political track for mayors and deputy mayors.

The two-day conference is a chance for Mission Cities to get inspired, connect with other ambitious cities, and share their experiences! City practitioners are encouraged to attend both days and Mission City Mayors are encouraged to attend on the second day for the plenary discussions and a series of special sessions for Mission City political representation.

What’s in store?
We have a lot on offer for cities over the two days including peer-to-peer exchange sessions, inspiring panel discussions, conversations with the EU Cities Mission representatives and more! It will also offer city practitioners many opportunities to discuss crucial questions related to the Climate City Contract process, thematic issues such as citizen engagement, Pilot Cities, and more. There will also be plenty of space to network with fellow Mission Cities representatives.

The conference provides a valuable opportunity to meet one another in person, to engage with high level representatives at EU, national and local level and to continue to build on your journey to 2030 climate neutrality.

Both our Coordinator Mircea Steriu and our Dissemination Task Leader Francesco Iacorossi will attend the conference
