The PT is provided by BKK, one of the largest transportation authorities in Europe. BKK operates 4 metro lines, 5 suburban railway lines, 33 tram lines, 15 trolleybus lines, 264 bus lines, 4 boat services and BuBi, a smart cycle sharing network. Budapest is a leading city in Central Eastern Europe in the implementation of transport management organisational schemes, in charge of the integration of different transport modes, and building organisational capacity for the implementation of sustainable measures. Since 2010, BKK Centre for Budapest Transport is located between the local government and transport operators with Public Service Contract framework in the governance model.
