Polis Conference
The Annual POLIS Conference is an opportunity for cities and regions to showcase their transport achievements to a large audience of mobility experts, practitioners, and decision-makers from both the public and private sectors. After a record-breaking edition in 2022, the POLIS Team and the Conference host and current President City of Leuven are glad to welcome you to another fantastic Conference.
Upper will be represented in two sessions
Session 1H “Let’s Co-Create!." In this session, Eli Nomes, from the City of Leuven, will discuss how the serious game was used as part of the UPPER project. He will reflect on developing the game as well as how the results can be used to improve public transport user information.
Session 4C "Mobility as a right, public transport as a service." This session will reflect on the concept of Mobility as a Right, including examples of best practices and tools that can be used to develop a more inclusive public transport system. Erin Cooper and Mircea Steriu from the UPPER project will show how the project is addressing Mobility as a Right through specific measures, outreach, and tools.
Here's the full program
Within the Conference, Upper will also be present in a Codagon:
A 3-week long event from Nov. 6th to 24th, where 4 cities with challenges (Paris, Milan, Eindhoven, and Leuven) and 1 UPPER challenge will have to harmonize the calculation of modal share for public transport. This challenge is important since many cities use different methods for calculating modal share and this is one of the key indicators that will be used to evaluate the impact of the UPPER project
The winner will be announced on the 27th.
