Use MaaS as an operational tool to deploy exceptional mobility plans for major events

This measure uses the MaaS application as an operational tool to deliver exceptional mobility plans for major events, with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games as its large-scale proving ground. Major events concentrate enormous, time-critical demand (Paris 2024: ~15 million visitors expected, 200,000+ accredited participants, 35+ venues across the region, on a network carrying ~4 million daily PT users) and exposed four key risks: disoriented passengers, congestion, accessibility breakdowns and reputational damage. The measure answers them with two complementary MaaS experiences. (1) A precision-mobility service for the “Olympic Family” (accredited athletes, officials, media): accreditation-based access and transport-rights management, dedicated PRM/accessibility options in demand-responsive transport, and a CO2-savings calculator. (2) An enhanced public-transport service for visitors and the general public: personalised and optimised trip suggestions, inclusive UX for non-locals and PRMs, comprehensive event-and-venue information (event-specific POIs, access details) and a dematerialised travel card (the first large-scale European deployment). Beyond the event, the features validated during the Games are transferred into the permanent Île-de-France Mobilités apps, improving everyday transport resilience and making the region “events-ready” for the future.
