Pedestrian and public transport users-priority traffic light management

This measure consists of the implementation of an intelligent traffic light management system that prioritises pedestrians and public transport users at intersections. Through the use of computer vision cameras integrated into Valencia’s existing traffic control software, the system will detect pedestrians waiting to cross and users approaching nearby bus stops, enabling traffic signal phases to be adapted in real time. The measure is intended to reduce waiting times, improve safety, and enhance accessibility for pedestrians and public transport users. By placing these users at the centre of traffic management, the intervention contributes to a more inclusive, efficient and sustainable urban mobility system.
