To improve the public transport offer in peri-urban areas

This measure aims to improve public transport accessibility in peri-urban and low-demand areas of Valencia that are currently underserved by conventional fixed-route services. It introduces an automated Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) solution based on user-triggered deviations of an existing urban bus route, rather than a standalone service. The system is supported by a digital platform including a mobile application, an IVR system, and a backend operator interface, enabling booking, cancellation, and service management. Designed as a pilot, it allows the PTO to test operational performance and assess its scalability to similar low-demand contexts. By offering multiple access channels, the measure enhances inclusiveness and ensures equitable access to public transport for all users, including those with limited digital skills.
