UPPER Summa cum laude

Linking UPPER to Academia to establish fruitful relationships with young professionals was part of WP8 guidelines since the beginning of this journey. We believe a permanent behavioral change can be successful only if supported by younger generations. Luckily for us, project partner FIT took this task quite seriously. Today we can all celebrate colleague and researcher Paola Fasiello, who successfully discusses her Master's thesis dedicated to the UPPER project and the role of Public Transport towards a more sustainable and zero-emission mobility. Her thesis awarded with 110 cum laude was titled "The transition of Climate Neutral Cities from the view of Mobility Justice and social equity. Analysis and comparison of the two Horizon Mission Cities projects, the case of Rome and Bologna". We could not be happier to have supported Paola during her journey and would also like to thank all project partners who made this important milestone possible!

Paola Fasiello "I'm grateful for the opportunity that FIT and UPPER gave me to be part of their team, discovering the fields of project management and sustainable mobility. Writing my thesis within this project has been a very interesting path: the Upper team gave me support during all the developments of my work, giving me important pieces of advice and teaching me new things every day. I hope this is only the start!"

Paola Cossu FIT CEO "FIT is proud to allow MA students offering them a pathway for their future careers in a European ecosystem. We had been very glad to support Paola in her internship and thesis preparation, more women need to step in the front line if we want to boost EU research and innovation!"

Francesco Guaraldi FIT "Very glad to have had the opportunity to introduce Paola to the role of junior research manager of the UPPER project. It’s always very rewarding to see the contagious effect of the positive attitude of the young researcher while being involved in such a large transition project! Think positive, UPPER will make it!"
